Thanks Greg,
I can't tell you how happy we are that they did the build outside! One of the things that hit the cutting room floor was my anxiety attack. I had taken a ton of pictures of the inside of the house. Mid-week, I got the pictures out and started going through them. I got very depressed. I mentioned it to one of the producers and a short time later there was a camera in my face with Steve asking me about looking at the pictures!!
I told them I was second guessing the decision to do the show and I was a little freaked out. They must have been laughing hard inside knowing that they weren't touching the inside of the house.
I found out later that the five person design team left our house after the initial walk through and all agreed that they wouldn't touch the inside because it was too cool. That made me feel really good.
BTW, I know you're an El Cortez fan. That big house across the street that was in a lot of the shots was Jackie Gaughan's place. He lived there off an on for forty years before moving into the El Cortez last year. Notice it's the same color as the Cortez! County records show that for a four year period in the 80's, Doyle Brunson owned it and then Gaughan got it back. I'm sure there's a story there!!
Tyberius, er, I mean Tyrus
