Rich,
Thanks, I'm glad to hear you liked it. We LOVE IT!
I agree that it looks like the budget was smaller for both our house and the other Las Vegas house (Mardi Gras). Maybe it was because of the extra expenses they incurred in housing the crew here for two weeks. I'm not complaining, though! I think the Sports House was in a league of it's own. They went all out on that one and I don't think any of the other houses come close as far as gadgets and toys.
We've lost several of the glass candle holders in the winds here. Other than that, things seem to hold up well. When it rains, we cover the bar with a tarp. Vic, the metal guy, is going to come back and build us a cover with metal "spears" posts. We've been waiting to see the show first before we hired him just in case he was a jerk. But he passed the test!!
The cauldrons have drain holes in the bottom of them. We're planning on hooking them up to natural gas so we can burn them longer and more often. I might be selling chips to cover the gas bill!!
I don't know if it was money or time that kept them from tiling the cement. My guess is time. Our builders stayed until close to midnight every night. I don't think they could have done much more, even if they hadn't spent so much time on the arches.
Top 3, huh? I would have to say this build ranks #1, but I might be a little biased!
