It was a 3-step process. The first thing I did was go to the eBay forums (general) and post a message to the effect of "As chip dealer's, we're tired of our category being muddled by non-collectable chis (as in sets for home use) and other items, like tables, poker dealing supplies, and online poker room affiliates (who sell nothing at all and just use eBay to post their affiliate codes and links). Then, I went through and reported each and every auction in Cat. 899 that did not fall under the umbrella of collectable chips (mainly, those types of auctions listed above). I could only report 10 at a time, so you can imagine how long it took me to report every single one. Lastly, I posted a message here asking for assistance, which I'm sure some of you gave. A fourth step (but one I would not recommend in hindsight) was to email each seller who listed items that did not fit Cat. 899 and inform them that their items were reported to eBay for being in the wrong category, as well as a friendly request to list their wares elsewhere. The combination of those things seemed to work. I'm glad it helped some of you. As a dealer and a collector, it has already helped a ton. You can check out my auctions by doing a seller search on scottro77. Good luck, everyone, and thank you for your support! 77 scottro
