A West Virginia firm has bought Binion's. The WV frim runs the casion at Chester, WV. (slots only). I am not sure of the details of this transaction but it was in the newspaper.
What does this mean? There are 5 race tracks in West Virginia with slots only casinos. Each one of them in the last couple of years has gone through a major renovation. Expanding the casino areas to major proportions. Way bigger that what is really needed.
There are no casinos in States that border West Virginia. OH, PA, MD, VA and KY have no casinos. One of my friends is in the West Virginia State Legislature and said it is a foregone conclusion that there will be "full blown" casinos in West Virginia after the 2004 elections. Riverboat gaming will soon follow.
But it appears, at this time, West Virginia's slots only casinos are preparing for full gaming play. It is only a matter of time before this comes to pass.
Just a little something to think about. There will be another State with a whole bunch of new chips to collect.
