This is my voice of experience for new collectors of anything.
When you first start have a plan as to how you are going to catalog, display, warehouse or whatever. As soon as you acquire something new, put it where it belongs and record it in a database or something so you know what you have.
We bought at a frantic pace for 2 1/2 years and just shoved everything into an unneeded bedroom.I think I have finally got all my matchbooks and covers into a database along with all the PC's. The drink glasses are now in their own pile.
Then there is the problem of the ashtrays. There are around 1600 of them and the way I started databasing them is proving to be a major failure, so I am going to have to start all over so I know 100% what I have and don't have.
Oh, and I have some really neat little caw things from Stockmen's/Elko, but haven't seen them for awhile, imagine that.
