It doesn’t take a hoard for a once valuable chip that went for over 1,200.00 three weeks ago now sells for (1/3) one third the price.
The informed can easily see that the reality is that on Ebay, the 25.00 Playboy backup chip sold for 835.00 (item number 3273299655). Followed by a sale of $443 (item number 3278635897) and a current auction (item number 3280127840) that is at $305.00 as of this writing with my suspicion won’t even sell 400.00.
What do you think the price of this chip will be if another 3 or 4 show up on Ebay. Three or four more samples may not be a hoard, but the perception is that there are more. And unfortunately I own the same chip for which I paid a good amount for, and now find is worth a lot less than what I paid for it because the perception is that there are more.
Richard, here is the bad news, the reality is I am informed and know for a fact that there are three (3) 25.00 Playboy backup chips in 3 different collectors hands that are duplicates and will find there way to the market, either now or in the future.
For what it's worth, I hope no more show up! and maybe the preception will turn around that there is no hoard and non for sale.
