Intimidation and threats are not only a pattern clear in your participation in this forum, they appear to be how you conduct your everyday life. That's not just sad, it is sick.

How could mentioning a name in a public forum be grounds for legal action when the person placing that name on some posts claims that there's no way to know who made the post?

"The guy who claimed to be hacked is in line for some serious legal problems in the very near future should make any unwarranted accusations."

That guy hasn't claimed he was hacked. He claimed he thought he was hacked, still does. He has since sought help from computer experts and law enforcement agencies. Contrary to public posts by some stating sundry law enforcement agencies would not take these matters seriously, that guy has found law enforcement agencies to be quite helpful.

"Talk about club ethics and slander? Not one person has offered a single shred of proof, but they like to deal in insuation and inuendo. Dangerouis territory for the one that crosses the line."

Here's the crux of this entire deal. People have been publicly and privately threatened, stuff has been noted and recorded, and to this day, no one has publicly or privately denied any suspected actions. All that's been said is it can't be proved.

"The club can't extract the type of monetary damages often won in a defamation action. A court can - and will."

You'd have to prove not only was the person being defamed was known to be that person, but also that actions taken are/were defamation. If you stink and someone says so, that ain't defamation, it's fact.

"Think about you setting at home, eating a quiet dinner. A knock upon the door - a process server. Seems you are due in a far away place for a deposition."

More threats.

"You consult with a lawyer who tells you it's a bunch of nonsense, but after spending 3 grand on a jurisdictional argument, you find out you can either rack up the frequent flier miles or suffer a default judgment."

Still more threats.

...and intimidation.

"Now who has the guts to level an accusation?"

Who has the guts to threaten and intimidate people using a real name? If it's you, do so, or go away.

Something I don't think you'll ever understand. This forum is here for the exchange of information concerning a common interest and public banter between real-life friends. Intrusion into this forum by anyone making threats and/or taking action against this group of friends and hobbyists will not be taken lightly nor ignored.

I first got online 20 years ago. While I have taken the normal precautions to protect my computers from people who harbor random malice against the online community, this is the first time I've taken extraordinary protective measures directed at preventing one individual from disrupting my life and livelihood. In other words, this isn't a fight that I started, and it won't be a fight that I lose.
