I did a lot of research on the Borland counterfeits. I had access to Bud Jones records at the time. In the archives you will find what I had to say about Borland and his chips. I think you will find TCR agrees with me on all of them but 1. There is one in TCR that is tagged as Borland but it is not. No matter how much good Borland did for the hobby, his legacy is "doubt" on many chips. Some people believe what they want to believe. Some have made a lot of money based on creating more doubt.
