Message about the Building Fund

The Building Fund is doing great. So many members have contributed and helped I'm afraid to mention individual names because I know I'll forget someone. So I'll just say THANKS to all of you, you know who you are.

This was a pretty wild idea and I understand some of our members concerns. If you've read the posts, and everything that has been written in the magazine, you know we've tried to answer everyones questions and if you still have one we haven't addressed please feel free to email me or stop me at the convention and I'll do my best to help you.

Raising the money, then appointing a committee to study the feasability and trying to figure out what we can afford was the previous boards idea. I think it was a very practical approach considering we are trying to do something very big without a lot of practical experience. We are exploring every possible avenue including grants, goverment help, industry help, etc. etc. etc.

From the beginning we have told everyone this is a very long term project and it still is. No one has been mislead or painted any rosy pictures. We have made no promises to anyone. We are simply individual volunteers trying to accomplish a very large task for our past, present, and future members. Eventually we will succeed. We have a great board behind us, a very strong fundraising committee, and a general membership that is so talented and diverse, that failing is not possible.

The money is safe in a bank where it will stay. We have not used a dime of this money for any fundraising efforts or any other reason. The money will be used for a home for our club, but it probably won't be next week or next month. Please keep working towards our goal, someday we'll succeed and everyone will be proud of what this great group has accomplished.

Regards, Jim Kruse
