I'd like to start a "Mentor Program" here. I feel that in the present situation where there aren't Nevada Priceguides available to our new members, that if each of us would make ourselves available to new members to ask advice, it would be of great value.

We all recently have seen sportiepam's unfortunate eBay experience. This could have been avoided if she had a mentor. Or at the least, someone she could email with a chip or auction, and had that someone look the chip up for her.

I'd like to volunteer myself as the first. Pam, if you'd like to take advantage of the offer, I'd be happy to help.

I'd like to offer my help to at least one or two other people. If you need advice, or have questions about chips or auctions, please feel free to contact me.

I'd like to put a call out to other members to make themselves available. There's so much to learn in this great hobby, and there are so many good people here with a wealth of experience and knowledge.

I, for one, am more then happy to give back a little to the chipping community.

I am also going to put a copy of this post on the club BB. With any luck, perhaps we can make the "Mentor Program" an official service of the CC& GTCC.
