These type of chips have been attributed to the Balinese Room for a long time. Here is the story. There were 2 types of "sticks" chips used at the Balinese Room. They were the "100" red and purples. These chips were not played on the tables, but used as markers for their VIP clientele.

I don't know why these particular chips were used, or if they had another purpose other than gaming markers (i.e. drinks, entertainment, etc).

As far as anyone can tell me, they did not use other denominations. In my opinion, other than those two "100" chips, all others are generic.
