Reminds me of the old story where a guy buys a product and the instructions say it can be assembled by a 6 year old.
Problem is there is never a 6 year old around when you need one.

As far as the childproof bottles go, if the only child left in the house is yourself feel free to request your medication in non-child proof containers.
They still have them though many people don't know this.
