When I checked into the DirecTV internet options a couple months ago, the version that used the same dish as TV used a satellite download and phone line upload system. To get satellite upload/download service you needed to update both the dish and buy a new receiver (I don't remember the cost but I think it was pretty pricey). I opted for the Comcast cable setup for that reason.

PS- I still have chips for you from Eastern Europe and Arizona.
