I just picked this up from an antique store. This is a great piece. The 7" plate is from the Grand Opening of the original Flamingo. It has eveything going for it. In case you can't read it all, here it is:

GRAND OPENING Christmas 1946
Flamingo "THE SHOWPLACE OF THE NATION"
Under Bugsy Siegel's picture it says: "Your Host "Bugsy" Siegel Flamingo President"
If you haven't seen the Fabulous Flamingo, you haven't seen Las Vegas.

In addition to a picture of the hotel and of Bugsy, there are flamibgos all around the rim of the plate.

I thought this was really cool! I just wanted all of you to enjoy it.

Does anyone know if there a lot of these around. This is the first one I've seen
