I know it's coming soon, I can feel it in my bones . With the coming of the "CC&TN" 2004 Winter issue, it is most appropriate to thank all of the people who help make the magazine the envy of collecting communities. Please join me in thanking them.
First, a resounding "Thank You" to our Editor Allan Anderson and Assistant Editor John Moore. Their production on behalf of the Club and its MEMBERSHIP is nothing short of outstanding. Of particular note is Allan Anderson's article contributions. You have to ask "Where does he find the time?" Thank you Allan for your added participation.
Second, to our Advertising Manager Charles "C.T." Rodgers a heartfeld "Thank You" for your years of service to the Club. "C.T." volunteered to be our Advertising Manager at least 10 years ago that I can remember (maybe more). "C.T." has worked very hard over the years to make advertising in "CC&TN" affordable by his creativity and the establishment of ad size to fit most any need. Unfortunately, with the various "quick-fix" avenues of peddling goods available on the internet, advertising in our magazine has severely deminished. I have always been a proponent of advertising in our magazine--it reaches ALL of the membership at the same time (I know, I know, bulk rate mailing gets it there a little later ). Supporting magazine advertisers has a direct benefit for all members by helping to defray the ever-rising cost of magazine production. If we support our magazine advertisers they will advertise more! If we get more advertisers we delay the inevitable need to raise membership dues to cover rising magazine production costs.
Last, but not least, I commend the magazine contributors who take time to submit articles on historic finds and new issues, stories of travels in search of that elusive collectible treasure, and all other materials they feel should be shared with ALL Club members. Their love of the hobby comes shining through every contribution and their willingness to share it with ALL members. Again, thank you and keep contributing!
I am looking forard to our next "CC&TN" issue. Chuck Tomarchio.
