I think the hot stamps are the same. It's like you chip is the gold hot stamp and mine is the worn away silver hot stamp. Originally both were the same.

I say this because I seem to recall seeing most new chips have the dark stamp whereas with age they turn lighter until they fade away.

Now I'm wondering if this isn't the case with the chip color. If they are different colors, then bad choice of colors. With all colors available, picking a purple and a lavender (or whatever color I have is called) is kind of dumb. Where is blue, pink, brown, gray, black?
