I too think it's a good Idea. Has that ever become formal club policy or as Mr. Black states in his post "suggested".
I have offered it to the people I've done work for and they have all declined except one. So far the only stamped chip "W-001" is in my personal collection.
Most say that the chips are their private property and they should be able to do with them as they see fit.
One said if the club wants to determine what is done to his collection they will have to buy it. He claims to have over a million dollars worth of chips. Knowing who it is, He's probably right.
Another statement that has been made is; "The idea that some organization or government should control our private possessions is a Gestapho mentality".
So you can see what we are up against.
The particpants in this hobby are very polarized over the issue of chip repair. As with most controversies the solution should be "compromise".
This could be brought about by nuetral Leadership willing to listen to both sides of the issue with an open mind. Leadership that takes a position prematurely will only serve to create further polarization.
