From what I've heard (and I have no proof, only informed discussion), it was actually Jack Binion who assured the demise of the Horseshoe, not his sister.

If my information is correct, Jack bled the 'Shoe dry to pay for his riverboats and when Becky took over she was already way in the hole. She's been trying to dig out ever since.

And I wouldn't be so quick to carve a tombstone for the Horseshoe. It may rise again.
