While it is not the most luxurious place to visit for your 31st wedding anniversary, it worked for me. And we did just get back from three weeks in the Middle East so the trip slush fund is running low. I made the rounds to all of the casinos and was disappointed that there were not any new regular chips. I tried to get a bunch of the $5 Ballys Ultimate BJ Tournament chips but they are all gone. I looked at every rack at every table on two shifts and they even searched the cage for me. Like the Isle of Capri GO chip I think this one will be very hard to get in the future.
There is nothing new at any of the casinos except new roulettes at the Horseshoe and two varieties of new (to me at least) slot cards at the Park Place properties. The newest one has the new www.caesars info on the back to reflect the corporate name change from Park Place to Caesars. There is also a newer $1 chip at the Horseshoe that looks almost the same as their old one but I think it has been on the tables for 6 months or so. Most of the casinos need to change their chips since they are still using the original ones from the day they opened. Sams Town has the worst followed closely by Grand and Hollywood.
Not much to report this time but with the new roulettes at Horseshoe and trying to finish up some of the other tables where they changed roulettes last year I will probably go back again soon. In keeping with my usual luck (skill??) I lost a total of $19 on this trip including valet and drink tips. Cindy won $177 on a nickel machine and netted about $100 for the trip. Not bad for two days.
