Sorry you are correct. The goal of the BCS is to create a single champion. But the CURRENT process by which teams are selected to play in the championship worked exactly how they designed it. Flashback 2000, Miami beats Florida St early in the season. Miami loses late in the season. Florida St and Miami both have a single loss. Florida St is selected to play Oklahoma. The outcry begins that Miami shouild be playing because they beat Florida St and that a late season loss should not impact them as bad and that the whole season should be taken into account. Thus they changed the criteria again. This year Oklahoma benifitted from those changes. Now they are talking about changing the criteria again. For example, if you do not win your league you can't play but not requiring all leagues to have an additional game. The BCS is becoming more reactive then pro-active. Lets look at the above example. What would we have done if both OU and LSU lost their respective league championship games. Thus giving LSU two losses and OU one loss. Now we would have USC with one loss and OU with one loss. But since they lossed you have a two loss team jumping a one loss team to go to the championship game. This kind of crap will keep happening until they go to a playoff. But like Bob Stoops said, he doesn't care what the rules are, as long as you let him know what they are at the beginning of the season and you don't change them before the season ends.
Congrats LSU and Congrats USC for winning.
