Follow-up

Well, I ate lunch with the Italian who studied Latin today. I'm afraid she wasn't of any more help. She agreed that the 'venite vos' was indeed 'come all of you' or similar, but said that the 'prodigi' could be used in either the 'genius' (prodigy) sense, or in the 'prodigal' sense. Of course, she said that it had been 10 years since she had studied Latin, so couldn't guarantee anything grin.

That being said, I will stand by my original SWAG (scientific, wild-assed guess) of an interpretation, namely, "Come all ye wayward ones'. vbg
