Re: Question...What does this say...

Wow, you'd think with all of my 'orbis non sufficit' stuff I would be able to be of more help. I am fluent in Italian, which in most cases means that I can get within spitting distance of the accurate meaning, and then pass myself off as more intelligent than I am, simply by inferring I know Latin via my Italian, and because usually there is no one available at the time to contradict me. vbg

Using these limited skills, I would guess that 'venite vos' would be 'come all of you' or similar, since it's close to the Italian. 'prodigi' is more difficult, as it's close to the english 'prodigy', but also to to the Italian equivalent of 'prodigal'. So if I were to make an educated guess, I would hazard 'Come all ye wayward ones'. At least it sounds pithy, and appropriate to a pub or something similar. vbg

However, I will be eating lunch tomorrow with an Italian who studied Latin at university in Italy, and will try to get a more definitive answer.

Ciao (I was actually going to start using that as a closing, before Bill Romano beat me to it grin)
