Re: Do burns add to the value of chips?

I hate to give chip restorers any credit but 90% of that burn mark can be removed with a little auto rubbing compound. The bubbled part probably is permanently destroyed. Here is an example from my collection that I did this morning. I am sure that with a little more time and patience (my wife wants me to clean the chandeliers since we are having company)that mark could have been completely removed. I only worked on this piece about 30 seconds. Which chip would you rather have in your collection? I know it is a matter of personal preference but the clean chip still looks better to me.
