Re: Thank goodness

I think it has been final for a while now that Jack has sold Horseshoe to someone. Harrahs was it? I think that is the case. The buyer has chosen, from my recallection, to keep the casinos named as Horseshoe and capitalize on the "BRAND" that Jack had created with the properties that he had built. I have still heard ads here in Chicago that use Jack's name. It was told that Harrah's was going to even take some of their other properties that need a little lift in recognition and rebrand them from Harrah's to Horseshoe. If Jack is working closely with Harrah's to maintain the identity it could be a big positive for either Jack to take his proceeds from the sale to Harrah's or for Harrah's themselves to buy Horseshoe back from Becky and publicly reassociate himself with it. Then after he rebuilds the reputation and image, and brings it in line with his success, Harrah's might be able to have a nice presence downtown. I hear a lot of people talk positively about Binion's but the complaints always seem to come up with missmanagement and employee issues, debt etc. It seems to me, as a distant observer, that the problems lie with largely with that missmanagement and if someone who knew what they were doing and weren't working with too few resources to overcome the past financial problems they could turn the place around and a lot of people would fill the place and cheer them on to success. I get the impression that willing patrons are there, they just don't go there because of the missmanagement. I could be wrong on that though.

As for Fremont Street Experience, I don't know if you are a local resident of Las Vegas. I am not. Therefore you and I might have a different viewpoint here but I kind of like the experience. Every year when I go out there my friends and I like to try and go downtown at least for an evening. FSE is one of the draws. The buffet at Fitzgeralds, the T-shirt shops and mainly the colorful light show. We then wander around and play some slots etc. I didn't partake but last year the Deep Fried Twinkies advertised on the sign at Mermaids was quite tempting if not just comical. We got some frosty drinks ind souvenier GLASS at Fitz's and wandered around listining to the music from the Airforce band that was performing, watching the street entertainers and observing as artists like the guy with all the cans of spray paint made up some really incredable artwork. Whether it was some magician, artist or reptile handler with an 8 foot boa, it made for a memorable and interesting evening. I think that they should continue with it and still try to promote it. People should really open their eyes and minds and go down there when in town visiting. The strip is great but everyone should take a day and see Fremont Street. Now with the NEON museum, Is that where it is? There is a lot of cool stuff to see and some nice places to play. Finally went into Binion's last year but wasn't that impressed with it. Have played at Fitzgeralds which I did well, and I also like Golden Nugget. Still haven't gotten to Lady Luck or gone into 4 Queens. As a photographer, myself, I also think Fremont Street is an excellent place to go and pose some pictures with friends and get the colorful lights etc. Go there and ENJOY.
