All of the Clubs on the Strip in Carlin had to get creative when it came to advertizing. Other artifacts say "In the heart of the financial district" The train from Elko on it's way to Reno would stop and load up on ice and the engineers and other railroaders would head across the street to the "Strip" and cash their checks in one of the 4 clubs. The Strip was actually about 75 yards long.
