Well now, this is a wrinkle I don't recall hearing before. Are these "repairs" only on chips with drill holes in the inlay as opposed to holes in the rim or edge of the chip? Seems rather important as most chips I've seen drilled either had the inlay intact or were only fractionally holed in the inlay area. The examples I'm showing are cases in point. The trio of maroon chips are typical of the cacellation I've seen on this chip. Umm, guess which one I bought from D. Whelen. The grey chip is always likely to be drilled dead center in the inlay as far as I know. If repaired chips are only going to be chips with drilled inlay areas and it seems that if existant cancelled specimens of a particular chip are customarily seen with drilled clay rather than drilled inlays then that would seem to eliminate a LOT of chips we see today from being repair candidates. So after that big ol' run-on sentence... are these repairs only on flat clay areas or are holes in the actual mold itself being repaired also?
