David, I can not help what people think.
All SS machines are preset the same by the manfacturer.
Casinos have no way to change them once they are on the floor.
You can believe it or not!
Let me give you a simple story.
Pretend there is a midget CPA with a pencil and a note pad in the machine.
John walks up and puts a $100 in a 10% hold machine. The machine pays out exactly $100.
John actually beat the machine for $10.
The Midget CPA writes a -$10 on his pad.
June a pretty lady with nece legs and a short skirt puts in $100 and the machine pays out $110. (The midget was busy looking up her skirt)
The midget writes a -$20 on his pad. ($10 win and $10 hold)
Total loss to his machine is now -$30.
The slot manager is going to be pissed at him.
Up walks David and puts in $100.
The midget sees his chance to get even.
You get $60 back.
The midget is happy, he now has his $30 hold and got back the $10 win he was foolish enough to let the skirt win.
Now your pissed and cuss the machine. You run the $60 through again and get 0 back. The midget does not like to be cussed out.
The midget writes down +$6 hold and now has $54 of your money to give to the next short skirt that sits down.
Just imagine the midgets misery when someone wins that $1,000 jackpot. His only hope is, if that miserable guy that cussed him out, comes back.
Best to remember the midget puts his back to the wall and takes on all comers, bar none!! Some win, some lose, but the midget can not lose. (his very existance depends on it) At the end of all the possible chances on the wheels, his books must balance to a 10% hold or he's outta there.
This story could very well apply to any SS machine in NV.
