OK, I need another lesson.

If you see a string of bids on an EBAY item and the last bid is higher than the second to the last bid, but that higher bid was placed four days prior to the second to the last bid how come it doesn't appear until the very last moment.

If you are continually bidding and raising your bid wouldn't it have show up earlier in the sequence?

I can never figure this out. How can the last winning bid be placed four days BEFORE the auction ends? There is no evidence of the bidder previously bidding! I bid in the last couple of seconds and out pops this bid from FOUR days ago! AAAGGGHHH!
