I collect the metal pin-back buttons from the Helldorado celebration in Las Vegas. This is the only plastic badge I've seen. Wondered if any other collectors have seen this type before and what other years it might have been issued.
Helldorado Days was the rodeo and western celebration hosted by the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge 1468. First held in 1934, it was once the biggest tourist event of the summer for the town. The last event was held in 1998, although there is talk of reviving the celebration in 2005.
Did you know that the Elks Lodge in Las Vegas is one of the few open to the public? They have slots, and their license requires allowing public access. You can have lunch there Tues through Friday according to info on the www.
