One of the groups I would actually take off of work (playing) or make a two hour trip to hear was Frank Zappa. I saw him more times than all other groups combined.

The one I liked best was when he had Flo and Eddie with him and they were doing Just Another Band from LA routine. Much of it like 200 motels material. (1970?)

Those guys played things live that others couldn't do in a studio. Two hours straight, no break, wasn't uncommon.

Frank fielded the best musicians for his groups. It wasn't like other bands, where there were "members" it was Frank conducting, sometimes playing guitar and the hired guns.
