When Harry Chapin sang 30,000 lbs. of Bananas at a concert, it was an audience participation song. You cannot believe how good it was. Matter of fact, I would say it was the most enjoyable song I ever heard at any live concert. That includes a lot of concerts ... Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, James Taylor, Carole King, Todd Rundgren, Rolling Stones, Moody Blues, Patti Smith, Manhattan Transfer, Pointer Sisters, Grand Funk Railroad, Seales and Croft, The Band, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Beach Boys, Judy Collins, Elton John, Billy Joel, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Riders of the Purple Sage, Delaney and Bonnie, Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, Allman Brothers, Edgar and Johnny Winter, Neil Diamond, Hall & Oates, and many more more including Harry Chapin's brother Tom Chapin.
