I know that the security cameras can tilt and pan and zoom. What I was referring to was TV shows where, for no apparent reason, a stationary camera (like the one at the end of a hallway) will follow the characters every move including zoom action and of course never photgrahps the charaters backside. It makes for good TV but rarely happens in real life.
