Right on all counts.
If I'm a buyer, which is what I do most of the time and hardly sell much, I'm all in favor of lower prices. My point was, that the seller shouldn't have to take a back seat just because I'm cheap. If dealers can't make a profit, why would they stay in business? Just for someone to bleed them dry and use them for a source for the hard to find chips for a collection. We need to have a balanced outlook between buyers benefits and sellers profits.
Stocks are investments, casino chips and other collectibles are not good investments. Too trendy. The overvalue on eBay stock is a concensus of investment people, not a personal opinion. So what? If people buy it and are happy, who am I to say different?
If the other auction sites had something that really made a difference to people, and they started flocking to them, we both know, eBay would make a change. "If it ain't broken, don't fix it."
One nice point about Jackpot is that it's only casino stuff. I'm not going to mention any negatives, no need to run down some guys trying to make things better for us and trying to make a stab at a business.
I do think I'll check out Yahoo more often. With less people bidding I might be able to snag something. I know someone found a Rockette's Strike there cheap, but how much time is there in a day.
I agree with Rick G. about this, especially. Opinions expressed in messages are just opinions and are my own...
