I think the issue most people have is with sniping programs. Although, people who manually snipe are not thought of in a good light either.

I think the best thing is to bid 5% or 10% more than what you think is reasonable. That way if you are outbid by a penny you won't feel bad. You can laugh at the sniper for paying to much.
