I HAVE A NUMBER OF 'DECENT' CONTACTS WITHIN EBAY AND HAVE HAD SOME INPUT INTO CHANGES IMPLEMENTED OVER THE PAST YEAR. I WOULD CONSIDER MAKING SOME RECOMMENDATIONS TO THEM AS DETAILED BELOW.
THESE ARE JUST MY OPINIONS AND IF THERE IS TOO STRONG A FEELING AGAINST IT THEN I WONT BOTHER.
I THEREFORE WELCOME (PLEASANT) COMMENTS OR JUST SIMPLE 'AGREE' OR 'DON'T AGREE' STATEMENTS.
1. LISTING FEES SHOULD BE REFUNDED IF ITEM SELLS (AND A SMALL APPROPRIATE INCREASE TO THE FINAL VALUE FEES TO COMPENSATE) - THIS SHOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF AUCTIONS STARTING TOO LOW FOR ITEMS THE SELLER KNOWS WILL SELL AND IS TRYING TO SAVE MONEY ON.
2. THE 5 MINUTE RULE (AS YAHOO). AT THE SELLERS DISCRETION (AND NO DOUBT SUBJECT TO A SMALL FEE), ANY AUCTION WILL BE TIME EXTENDED IF A BID IS PLACED WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF THE END. THE '5 MINUTE' EXTENSION TO START WHEN THAT BID IS PLACED (NOT FROM THE ORIGINAL END TIME). IF A FURTHER BID IS PLACED DURING THAT 5 MINUTE EXTENSION, A FURTHER EXTENSION OCCURS FROM THAT POINT.
AS AN EBAY BUYER AND SELLER, I WOULD LIKE TO MENTION THAT I SOMETIMES BID EARLY, SOMETIMES LATE, SOMETIMES HIGH AND SOMETIMES LOW. I ACCEPT WHATEVER PRICE WAS REALISED ON MY SALES AS THE PRICE AND I DONT BOTHER LOOKING BACK TO SEE HOW NEAR THE END THE LAST BIDS CAME. I AM THEREFORE NEUTRAL AND OPEN-MINDED TO THIS. I AM SIMPLY OFFERING TO MAKE SOME SUGGESTIONS ON BEHALF OF EVERYONE IF YOU THINK IT WILL BE USEFUL.
