Another bottom line point... none of us created the eBay proxy bidding system... it is simply the playing field on which all eBay bidders must compete... after you've been sniped enough times, you either abandon the field or become a better sniper than your opponent (to overextend the sports metaphor)... I would prefer a different auction format, but good luck getting eBay to even consider the idea.
