Someone sent me a previous Email and asked what a "Stutter Bid" is. I am sorry I got delete happy and apparently lost your Email.
Anyway, that is just what I call it. If you are doing this yourself you are setting yourself up for trouble. There are a number of bidders I see do this...and they pay the price.
Say, that you bid $100.00 on an item. Then you think, well, hell, I would pay $150.00 for it. So you bid again. Then you find out Uncle Oscar passed away and you won't be home for the end of auction, so you bid $250.00. When someone looks at bid history and sees that you have bid three times with no other bids in between you are ripe for abuse. Enter "Mr Too Much Time On His Hands" to plink away at you.
Likewise, You can lay a trap for "Mr. Too Much Time On His Hands" On a higher dollar item, bid until you have the high bid. Then put in some "Stutter Bids" one cent apart. If you have the high bid, you can bid $100.67, $100.68, $100.69 and etc. Guy trying to stuff you will figure that even though he knows where your bid is,you must have bid a bunch more. Let him bid and eat it.
These are just ways to deal with folks that chase you around on bids. There are lots more. It's just a game.
