I have had your same situation happen a few times to me. It is one thing when a bidder bids up to a buck or two of your bid, on a low price item, and then quits. Or bids against you 2 or 3 times to not outbid you but his/her bids are of varying amounts or varies in closeness to your final bid and when items being bid on are different and varying. Those situations might be someone who just says, that is too much.
However, I had a situation where I bid on 2 identical lots. (dozen decks of playing cards) One I paid a buck or so more for than the other. In both cases I was opposed by one bidder. Each auction was opposed by the same person. Both situations he came to exactly, .50 of my high bid and quit. If he was willing to bid as much for the more expensive auction, and he did want the items, why didn't he outbid me on the lower priced auction. I add that both auctions ended in a day or so of eachother.
In one case I won the auction for $10.58
the other guy bid $10.08
The other auction I bid $9.38
and the other guy bid $8.88
I have recallections of him bidding against me on other auctions that I didn't win. I can't recall if he outbid me or if someone else came in and outbid me.
It just seemed a bit suspicious to me, especially after I got suspended from eBay a few weeks ago and someone called my attention to the fact the seller on these auctions had also been suspended around the same time.
In my case eBay insists that they suspended me only because they fealt that someone had compromised my password and they wanted me to create a new password. They say they had to verify that I was who I said I was. The other guy is STILL suspended. Could all this be coincidenece?
