I don't think there is any way to get eBay to change their rules. Funny, if it really does keep sellers from getting the highest possible bid (and I think it does) it is also costing eBay money since their final selling fee is based on selling price. This must have been something that the folks who set up Jackpot Auctions gave some thought to - I would like to know why they went with the fixed closing time instead of the "no bids for X minutes rule." I suppose it was easier to program and takes a little less CPU power. It clearly isn't a driver when folks think about listing something - Yahoo has 43 chips listed and eBay has about 6,200 - but it might help a specialty player like Jackpot attract sellers....
