It wasn't me! I checked.. Had that auction in my sites, but chose not to bid.. I put down several good snipe bids today.. no perfect snipes, but a few 1, 2 and 3 second ones.. all done by hand.. no program, no watch.. won several auctions.. lost a few.. but not unhappy about the ones I lost.. whether the winning bidder put his bid in a week ahead of time, or in the final seconds does not really matter.. the amount of the bid they placed determined whether they wanted the chip more than I did.
I noticed on the auction you got sniped on that you put down a snipe bid with 13 seconds left.. but the guy that bid at the 5 second mark just wanted to pay a little more. Had you bid more, you might have won, or you might have just made more for the seller and known that the guy that stole your treasure had to pay for it.
Just bid the max you are willing to pay whenever you decide to put your final bid in.. the main reason for waiting until the final moments to put that bid down is so that others don't have a week to keep plinking at your bid to determine what your top bid is and then go over it.
Good luck on your future snipes!
Have attached a pic of a Happy Sniper somewhere out there at the end of a long day of eBay auctions.
