I just learned from postings on the National Bulletin Board that Al Rollins passed away in his sleep two Weeks ago. I am so shocked and saddened by the news. I met Al through George Davis many years ago, and he was my Puerto Rican chip mentor. As the years went by he became a dear friend with whom I shared the crises of the same major surgery and our mutual calls of comfort and encouragement as we each found our way through it. At the conventions, Al, George and I had our daily morning breakfast dates. His red cap, beaming smile and chip tales, made each convention special for me. Last year was just not the same without him. I know he hoped to be able to come back for the 04 convention, but I guess it was God's will for him to take a table in heaven along side Bob Mera, Bruce Landau, Don Anthony, and all the other great guys and gals who were here for this hobby when the rest of us were not. He will be missed, but not forgotten. May the Almighty guide him on his way. Goodnight Friend
