You are still missing the whole point...Selling price has absolutely nothing to do with what it costs to deliver the item to your door step. This whole long diatribe has dealt with an unethical seller and an unwary buyer.
Simply stated, The buyer should never be charged more than what the actual shipping charge is. But, if the seller so states it, well so be it, OPEN WIDE, you need to pay it. You have accepted his conditions when you bid.
Your cost of padded envelopes, bubble wrap, flips, whatever is a business expense the seller should bear.
Do you ever see an ad where a seller says, "I charge $2.00 for a padded envelope and the $.50 for some bubble wrap, $.10 cents for a piece of scotch tape to seal envelope with and Oh, by the way my spit is pretty valuable, that will be an extra $1.00 for licking the envelope." Of course not, but I am sure there are ads that ridiculous on Ebay. They just hide out under the guise of "HANDLING CHARGES."
This is stuff that should be born by the seller. If it costs $3.85 to ship a 1 pound priority box, that is what the buyer should pay.No more, no less.
