By doing a search for what you have previous won, it is pretty obvious who it is, at least by seller id.
Always ask what shipping is..these scumbags are trying to make up for a low sales price by gouging the heck out of the buyer on shipping. Then there is the "Handling Fee" which is another bunch of crap. Businesses have operating expenses, rather it be a weekend Ebayer or a huge corporation doing mail order sales. They should be born by the seller.
I asked one guy awhile back what I got for my $4.00 per item handling fee. His response was, and I quote, "That is really nothing. I just charge it to cover my cost of packing materials, my time packing the item, and then I have to pay a kid $2.50 a box to take it to the Post Office for me." This guy had an Ebay score of over 8000. I am no kid, but if some fool in my neighborhood would pay me $2.50 a box to take to PO, I would have a nice little cottage industry that would pay for alot of my collecting.
What it boils down to, is ASK, and then tell them you aren't bidding in view of the outrageous shipping and handling charges.
Another great one I saw about a year ago was this person that said their handling fee would be just what Ebay charged them for their ad and final value fees. Their ad stated that they "WE charge an appropriate handling fee unique to each item sold." When I saw that I thought better ask, somethings up here.
As always, this is just one man's opinion.
