There was a long thread yesterday on the Hard Rock #ed Roulette chips. There were several questions asked about these modern day Vegas Roulette rarities. The #ed roulettes were in play when the Casino opened in 1995, but they had been replaced by February of 1996 with the Second Series of roulettes (the ones with Las Vegas) and a third table was added. The following list shows the #ed roulettes I have in my collection and how I got them. I have 12 of the 14 chips in this Series.
TABLE # 1
a. Green - March 26, 1995 -Trade- $3.00 Value
b. Yellow - April 30, 1995 - "Harvested"
c. Gold - December 3, 1995 - Trade - $5.00 Value
d. Purple - December 5, 1995 - Purchased - $3.00
e. Blue - July 20, 2000 - Purchased - $40.00
f. Hot Orange - July 20, 2000 - Purchased - $40.00
g. Hot Pink - July 20, 2000 - Purchased - $40.00
TABLE # 2
a. Hot Orange - March 26, 1995 -Trade-$3.00 Value
b. Purple - April 30, 1995 - "Harvested"
c. Hot Pink - May 4, 1999 - Purchased - $50.00
d. Green - July 20, 2000 - Purchased - $40.00
e. Blue - July 20, 2000 - Purchased - $40.00
f. Yellow - I NEED THIS CHIP !!!!
g. Gold - I NEED THIS CHIP !!!!
There was a rumor that there was another design in use at a high roller table when the #ed roulettes were in use, but I have never seen these chips and I do not know if they really exist.
I believe the # 2 chips are harder to find - I still need two of them. As far as the number of these chips that are in collections or that left the Casino - Here is what I know and what I can guess. I know I have 12 different chips in my collection and there are 19 other Yellow #1's and 19 other Purple #2's, since I harvested 20 of each of these chips, that's a total of 50 chips, I have had around 5 or 6 others that I have sold or traded over the years in addition to the 50. I don't have any extras of these chips at the present time. If we assume there were 20 of each of these chips taken from the Casino that would be a total of 280 chips. But, I believe there are a lot less than 280 of these chips floating around or in collections. There could possibly be a half dozen complete 14 piece sets, but I would guess only two or three complete sets exist. I am fairly certain that Steve Cutler has a complete set in his Chip Museum Collection. I haven't been able to find the two # 2 chips that I need to complete my collection and I have been looking for them since 1995. These chips are rare and hard to locate. The price of $300 to $400 each is not unreasonable. That's about all the info I have on these elusive roulette chips.
Till later,
Mr. Roulette.
