Good point John - but unfortunately I didn't have anywhere to hide ashtrays on my body, hence my collection of ashtrays is small. Now, when I went to the Westcliff about 3 months ago with my wife, mother and step-father, my mother surprised me by slipping one into her handbag! We were there again last week for a meal for my birthday and, disappointed that the first ashtray that she 'liberated' had a small crack, she 'liberated' another one for me. Hence a spare, and thus the Ebay auction!

Interestingly, my wife did ask last year if she could buy one for me (for Christmas), and having been told that they are not for sale, the lady on reception said why not just take one. A little surprised, she asked what would happen if she was caught - "oh, well you will probably be thrown out" was the reply! . Fortunately, for me anyway, my mother doesn't let such things worry her!!!
