Not sure if Tivo has this feature or not but I can even control my ReplayTV unit when I am out of town. I can schedule shows to be recorded, delete recorded shows, etc. All from a website. (see photo below).

Doesn't do it in "real-time". The commands are sent to my ReplayTv that night during the nightly data connect. As a result, I can't tape/record a show that is airing tonight but can catch something that is on TV tomorrow or later.
