I equate the ashtray art on some of the old trays that you post to some of the great 'works of art' that we see on some of the old casino chip inlays.
I had never seen or knew what a 'tri lobe' was before one of your post
Personally,I focus on chips but have succumb to the occasional ashtray, postcard, paperweight or ??? purchase that stuck my fancy.
I guess that there are a lot of us who see 'casino memorabilia' as our hobby.
