...so I don't believe him to be a crook. I recently bought a token from him that was a little subpar, so I sent it back to him and he replaced it and even refunded my shipping cost. I find that to be good customer service and I will continue to bid on his auctions.
In Pete's case, I agree that replacement of the chip would the right thing to do, but where do you draw the line? If a $50 shipment gets lost in the mail and you don't buy insurance, I don't believe it is the sellers responsibility to replace or refund. What if it was $20, or $200? This has been a very touchy subject for a long time, and I don't think there is a simple answer.
