I want to first thank everyone who helped in making my visit to the University of Texas yesterday a great success! The presentation was on how the slabbing companies attempted to come into our hobby, the combined efforts of our members to ward off this uninvited intrusion and the reasons behind our resistance. The second half was dedicated to the Club, the Bruce Landau Memorial auction, the convention and chip collecting in general.
The members who provided materials and assistance in one form or another were Andy Hughes, Archie Black, Dick Covington, Ann Skelton, Gene Trimble, Mike Quinlivan, Wayne Thompson, Robert Eisenstadt, Ralph Myers, Howdy and Kregg Herz. Thanks folks!
A big thanks to Dr. Lane Brunner of UT for the invitation. The enthusiastic response and warm hospitality of Dr. Brunner, his grad assistants and the students was very much appreciated. I had a great time! The presentation was so well received that Dr. Brunner has extended a standing invitation for me to return each semester and I gladly accepted.
Again, thanks to everyone for helping with the Club's educational mission!
