that should work most of the time. If the URL is REALLY long (lots of subdirectories with long names) the properties entry gets truncated and you might get an error instead of the photo. rule of thumb is that if the URL ends with an extension like .jpg or .gif (or another image extension) and starts with http:// then you got the whole thing.
